One of our founder’s story: Growing up with my grandmother was a journey of love, resilience, and determination. I vividly remember the struggles she faced, working tirelessly to provide for me and her entire family. One of the most daunting challenges she encountered was securing school fees, a hurdle that seemed insurmountable at times. I watched as she sacrificed her own needs, pouring every available resource into ensuring I had the opportunity to stay in school.

However, my experience was not unique. I saw many children in my community facing similar struggles. Some were forced to drop out of school due to financial constraints, their dreams and potential left unrealized. These experiences ignited a fire within me. I knew that I wanted to make a difference, to ensure that no child should be left out or see their dreams vanish. And so, Kakani Foundation was born — a testament to my grandmother’s pure love.
